CARB Compliance

What is CARB Compliance?

The California Air Resources Board has enforced an airborne toxic control measure to reduce formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products. The composite wood products covered by this regulation are hardwood plywood, particleboard, and medium density fiberboard. All finished goods that contain composite wood products, that are sold, offered for sale, supplied, used, or manufactured for sale in California must follow this standard.

How is OFS Brands CARB Compliant?

Under the CARB regulations, OFS Brands is considered to be a ‘fabricator,’ which allows us to utilize the sell-through provision put in place for fabricators to flush out and sell all non-CARB compliant Pre-Phase 1 materials by June 30th, 2010. It is important to note that all OFS Brands furniture is already CARB Phase 1 compliant at this time, prior to the deadline allowed in the sell-through provision, and is collaborating with our supply chain to purchase non added urea formaldehyde composite materials well in advance of Phase 2 deadlines.
